Highly collectible 1960s Juliana pendant necklace with tapered smoke teardrop rhinestones, black, and diamanté rhinestones, set on gold-toned metal. With hook clasp the necklace length is adjustable up to 16’. In great vintage condition.
Juliana vintage jewelry is a highly collectible, vibrant, high-end mid-century line of costume jewelry manufactured by DeLizza & Elster (D&E). Founded in New York City in 1947, D&E introduced the "Juliana" line in the 1960s as a way to establish an in-house brand identity and capture the soaring demand for bold, high-glitz statement jewelry of the time period. The line only ran for a limited time between 1967 and 1968 using paper hang tags as a way to identify the jewelry - today collectors have identified Juliana by their distinctive materials, rhinestone patterns, and construction techniques.
