The history of Victorian porcelain brooches is rooted in a unique intersection of domestic artistry, sentimental culture, and technological innovation during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. From roughly 1880 to 1910, hand-painting on porcelain became a highly fashionable pastime and was used for jewelry, housewares and plaques.
